Over-insuring your vehicle means its insured value exceeds its actual market value. In the event of a loss:

  • The claim payout will match your vehicle's market value at the time of the incident.
  • If your vehicle is under a hire purchase agreement and the lender requires coverage based on the outstanding loan (which may exceed the market value), note that:
    • The claim settlement will still be based only on the vehicle's market value at the time.
    • Any difference between the market value and outstanding loan is not covered.

  2. For Vehicles Older Than a Year: The coverage value is based on the current market rate, as determined by the provider's valuation system.

  • Any other relevant information at the time of policy issuance

Agreed Value: The coverage amount that will be reimbursed in the event of total loss or theft.
